A Book Review of The Fox and the Star

I recently borrowed the book The Fox and the Star by Coralie Bickford-Smith . I borrowed the ebook version from my library on Libby. The Fox and the Star is a children’s book about a fox who tries to find his friend, a star, after it disappears one night. While I found the illustrations beautiful, and the writing decent, I was a little disappointed by the ending. After Fox journeys beyond his part of the forest in search of Star, he comes to a clearing and finds more stars in the sky. However, he doesn’t find his friend. Despite this, he is happy to see so many stars. Also, according to the book, “He knew that somewhere out there was a star that was his” (pg. 30). The book simply ends like this; “Beneath the blazing sky of stars, Fox made his way through the forest.” That was the end of the story. At this point, I was left wondering what happened to the star. Did it die? Did it simply go elsewhere? What happened to it? To me, the ending was abrupt.  It’s possible the author want...

Sweetwater Creek


I made this video a couple of months ago using footage I took at Sweetwater Creek Park. I really enjoyed my time at the park. I loved walking through the forest taking pictures and videos and watching the creek flow over the rocks. It was all beautiful.

Thinking of God's wonderful creations reminded me of Romans 1:20, which says "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse," (NKJV). God's creation, which is all things including us, shows His eternal power and His glory. Sometimes I think about how amazing and miraculous it is that I have life and that I exist, and how amazing it is that people exist. We exist and have life because of God. He is the one who created the world and breathed life into us, and He and Jesus are worthy of all the glory and praise. There is no reason why we should not glorify and thank Him for everything He has done for us. God is truly awesome and He amazes me.
