Rain

Rain crackles on the sidewalks As the thunder bellows and roars. Cars hiss by on the wet streets As fallen leaves soar. Lightning flashes in the clouds As the trees dance in the wind. Chills and goosebumps rise on my arms As the cold rain hits my skin. Birds sing in their havens As rivers form in the parking lot. Blades of grass flinch and twitch  As they are pelted by raindrops. Cars sweat and weep buckets As they are left out in the stormy weather. Puddles form in the mud As raindrops splash ripples in them together. The scent of asphalt and rain Fills the cool, humid air As God’s rain calms my restless soul And washes away my despair.

Church Autumn Festival

Here is a video of a couple of things we did at the church autumn festival yesterday.

Before the other things we did that are shown in the video, the pastor of the church asked everyone to gather around and when we did, some people and a few kids threw yellow balls with a Bible verse on it into the air for people to catch and to keep. The pastor then explained that Jesus came to save us from our sins and prayed.

Then we participated in the cake and crafts auction the church was having. There was one cake that my mom wanted to get and it was a key lime cake with pecans sprinkled on top. She bid on it and won it.

Once we got home, my mom, my sister, and I each got a slice of the cake and it was very delicious.

I found our day at the festival enjoyable and I hope to go on more adventures soon.
