The Fisherman's Lament

Sailing across the ocean blue  Singing shanties with my merry crew We cast our nets into the briny waters To provide for our wives, sons, and daughters. But when are nets grew heavy and taut We heaved them up to see what we caught. And what did our accursed eyes behold? Fish with scales that glistened like gold. We cheered as our nets burst at the seams. We were rich beyond our wildest dreams! But my heart quickly sank to the sea floor As I recalled the warning we got days before. “Should you ever catch fishes of gold Remember the ancient warnings of old: Release them and don’t be slaves to greed Lest you anger the Merfolk with a selfish deed.” With heavy heart, I reminded my crew Of the solemn warning from Old Ms. Rue. A Beautiful Day Yesterday

It was a beautiful day yesterday. Rain is my favorite weather, so when it was raining a little bit I went out on the porch to enjoy it. After the rain stopped, a rainbow appeared in the sky. I could also see some lightning flashing near the rainclouds, which was very cool. I took some pictures of our plants, the trees in the backyard, and the rainbow. I took pictures of this xylophone that was on the porch because I liked how the colorful xylophone keys contrast with the grey background. I also took pictures of our dog Belle.

As I took pictures of the flowers and observed the beauty of the day, I thanked God for creating the flowers, the breeze, and for making it rainy weather that day. Psalms 19:1 says "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork" (NKJV). These things that God has created glorify Him, and I believe that is really amazing.
