Trip To Helen Georgia
My family and I went to Helen Georgia last week, and it was a nice experience. It was God who had planned this trip. He gave my sister a name and because of Him, we met this kind couple who offered to let us stay at a cabin for a couple of days. It’s amazing how God works.
My sister, who is an artist, got an art lesson from one of
our hosts. My sister painted a beautiful painting of trees, and the man was
generous enough to frame it for her. We now have the painting hanging up on the
wall.
That same night, we went to see the Christmas lights.
While we were there, we went to this small restaurant and bought pretzels. The pretzels were big, so we had to share with one another.
We went back out, but it was so cold outside we couldn’t stay out long. We ended up going back to our cabin.
The next day, we visited a town that looked like a small village in
Germany. I liked the buildings, and I took a few pictures.
We tried to find a place to eat, but it was a little
difficult because most places were closed. We went to a restaurant that served
German dishes before heading to a park so that my little brother could fish. The
food was alright, and we also got cakes for dessert, which were nice. The most
delicious things were their fries and the pretzel we got.
We went to the park, but we didn’t know how to find the lake
we were trying to get to, and GPS wasn’t really helping. It also didn’t help
that the service was bad. We ended up not going to the lake because the park
was getting ready to close soon. We went to this other lake just so we could
take a look at it.
We went back to the cabin, and that night, our hosts were
kind enough to start a fire outside for us and gave us marshmallows and hotdogs
to roast, along with some hotdog buns and baked beans. The hotdogs were
delicious! The host
even brought out a guitar for my little brother to play. The best part of the
whole trip was sitting around the fireplace and talking to the kind hosts. It
was very nice.
Nothing really beats being at home in your own space, but I
still enjoyed the brief and small journey.
